2008 Humble Rodeo
Pageant Age Divisions, Competitions & Rules Contest

must enter in one of the following divisions (contestants must meet age
requirements on or before the date of the pageant).
Competition Information All
contestants are required to arrive at KPHS thirty minutes prior to scheduled
competition for check in and orientation. During this time
contestant numbers will be distributed. All
contestants will be required to wear their assigned number during competition,
and the numbers should be worn on the right side of the body.
Each contestant will be judged on beauty (1 – 30 points); western wear
(1 – 25 points); personality projection (1 – 15 points); interview question
(1 – 15 points);
and overall appearance (1 – 15 points) for a total of 100 possible points.
Fashion:
Attire must be Western Wear.
Variations might be casual rodeo wear or fancy western shirts with jeans
or skirts. You may wear accessories
such as hats, vest, boots, belts but no guns please!
The judges will score the contestant on how well the outfit fits the
individual and the overall appearance of the outfit.
Clothing choices will be monitored
before competition begins. Contestants
will also be judged on eye contact, smile, and overall confidence on stage.
A random interview question is required in the Junior, Teen, and
Miss/Mister Rodeo divisions. Photogenic:This
is an optional competition.
Photos should be 8x10, unframed, and labeled with contestants name and
age division on back. Photos must be submitted on day of competition at check in.
Photo’s must be submitted on day of competition during check-in.
Photos may be picked up immediately following competition. Any photos not picked up will not be kept. Essay:
This is an optional
competition. Contestant will submit
an essay of not more than 100 words (preferably typed) listing Academic
Achievements and/or Community
Involvement. Essays will be
judged on content and presentation.
Essays should be turned in at check in.
Talent:
Performance must be limited to 2 ½ minutes. Any music required for talent should be submitted at check
in. A primary and back-up tape is
recommended for all performers. Sponsors You
may obtain business and/or family sponsorships.
The Humble ISD Education Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit
organization. The sponsorship is tax deductible. If a sponsor is obtained, please include the business name on
your entry sheet so that they may be properly recognized during competition. Dressing Dressing
rooms will be provided. Please do
not leave any valuables unattended. Contestants
are limited to one family member or friend in the dressing rooms, if needed by
the contestant. The Humble Rodeo
Pageant is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged valuables.
Score
Sheets Score
sheets will not be displayed to protect the privacy of all contestants.
Requests for individual contestant score sheets may be made at the
conclusion on the pageant. No score
sheets will be distributed after January 26.
Awards Female
1st place winners in each age division will receive a crown, sash,
and trophy. Male 1st
place winners in each age division will receive a buckle and a trophy.
Three runners up in each division will be presented with a trophy.
Trophies will also be awarded for photogenic, essay, and talent winners
in each division. Any contestant
not named in the above awards will receive a participation ribbon or medal.
Appearances All
Winners and Runners Up will take
part in the following appearances: Humble
Rodeo Parade: Miss
& Mister Humble Rodeo will ride with the Grand Marshall during the parade.
All other winners and runners up will ride together in the parade.
The Humble Rodeo Parade will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2008.
Humble
Rodeo BBQ Cook Off: Miss
& Mister Humble Rodeo will make personal appearances at the Humble Rodeo BBQ
Cook Off on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Miss
& Mister Humble Rodeo will assist with the presentation of trophies during
the cook off Awards Ceremony. Humble
Rodeo: Miss
& Mister Humble Rodeo will be presented to the arena audience during the
Rodeo performances on Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9, 2008. Further
information regarding all appearances will be provided at the conclusion of the
pageant to all winners and runners up. We
will accept PERSONAL CHECKS, CASHIER’S CHECKS, or MONEY ORDERS.
Checks should be made payable to HUMBLE ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION.
All applications must be received by Friday, January 18 at 4:00 PM.
NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.
NO EXCEPTIONS! There
will be a $25.00 fee for any check returned by your bank, regardless of the
reason. Absolutely NO REFUNDS. Rules §
Pageant is open to residents of
the Humble Independent School District only. §
Admission for all
NON-PARTICIPANTS will be $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children/students. §
Judges will be highly qualified
in the pageant field. No contact
may be made between contestants and judges before, during, or after any of the
competitions. Please do not stand
or sit behind judges during competition to coach your child or take pictures.
If you feel that you need to coach your child, you must go on stage with
them. Contestants and/or their family or friends are NOT
to approach the judge’s table or tabulator’s table for any reason at any
time. Failure to comply will result
in being removed from the competition. Please
be advised that all judge’s decisions are FINAL
and will not be altered or reversed for any reason.
Judge’s score sheets or tabulator’s master worksheets are not
available for public review for any reason. §
Pictures may be taken as long as
it does not interfere with judging. There will be a professional photographer
taking pictures during and after the event.
No one is allowed on stage during competition to take pictures.

Contestants will be disqualified
for the following reasons: ·
Inappropriate behavior by any
contestant or anyone connected to a contestant before OR after the competition. ·
Instances of gossip or excessive
criticism during OR after the competition. ·
Contestant attempts to influence
or trouble any of the judges. ·
Family of the contestant attempts
to influence or trouble any of the judges. ·
Contestant fails to fulfill
obligations as directed. §
In case of disqualification, the
title will pass to the contestant with the next highest score.
§
Disqualification will result in
the forfeit of all fees paid, immediate removal from the facility, and the
contestant will be prohibited from participating in future pageants.
§
The code of conduct will be STRICTLY
ENFORCED. The
Humble Rodeo Pageant is operated strictly by VOLUNTEERS.
All proceeds including entry fees and admission
benefit the HUMBLE ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION. |
