In association with the Humble Rodeo, we encompass a TGCBCA-sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off held on an adjacent 10-acre concrete parking lot the weekend prior to the Rodeo.
From humble beginnings in 2003, the number of BBQ cooking teams more than doubled from 32 to 65 in only two years, meaning that our Grand Champions since 2005 have been eligible to compete in the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City, Mo., and are entered into a lottery to attend the world’s most difficult BBQ Cook-Off, the Jack Daniels Invitational in Lynchburg, Tn. That’s no small potatoes, folks.
During the 2009 BBQ Cook-Off, $100,000 was raised, and all proceeds are used by the Humble Education Foundation to fund innovative classroom projects, teacher and staff development programs and grants to enhance curriculum and technology within the Humble Independent School District. The goal of the foundation is to support programs and initiatives that fall outside the scope of the normal operating budget. Additional information about the foundation can be found at www.humbleisdfoundation.org.

Prize for the Grand Champion of the BBQ Cook-Off donated by Pitmaker's.
