KCBS SANCTIONED

The Humble BBQ Cook Off is a KCBS Sanctioned event, judging will be handled and monitored by KCBS. The Kansas City Barbecue Society will meet about rule changes in January 2019. We will inform you of the changes when we receive them. In the meantime, see the KCBS rules are listed below.

Rules for Teams with Multiple Entries

A). Each Paid Entry have their own un-shared cooker.
B). Each Paid Entry have their own un-shared ice chest.
C). Each Paid Entry have their own preparation table. *

Exception If a prep table is shared, there will be:
A). Signage to show the whom the area is being used by.
B). A definite Barrier the full depth of the table being shared
and at least 1’ high across the table as not to all ANY product to
be passed or shared.

All remaining spots are open for purchase! Indicate what your team will be buying for the 2020 Humble BBQ Cook Off.

New teams may begin registering starting September 16, 2019.

NEW INFORMATION AND POLICIES:
  • Head Cooks must initial each page of the 2020 BBQ Rules and return them to julia@humblerodeo.com before their cook spot will be secured.
  • Head cooks must have cook team members sign a copy of the 2020 Release of Liability and turn in as they enter the gates of the event.
  • Alcohol Management information needs to be reviewed and followed by all parties.
  • Margarita Contest will be happening Friday, January 31, 2020.
  • BBQ Cook Off Band Registration is required for all teams having bands enter the grounds. All band members must have a ticket to enter. For a donation, we will help your band move into your tent. REGISTRATION DUE BY JANUARY 10, 2020.

Sanitary Equipment

Teams with paid spots will be able to purchase Port-O-Lets and Handwashing stations when the event is closer.


BBQ Cook-Off Add-Ons

Add-ons, such as extra spots, Cookers' pre-sale wristbands, or Cookers' reserved parking spaces will be available when the event is closer.

At the gate, purchase of BBQ Cook-Off Wristbands are $15 for adults and $10 for kids per day.

Five, 2-day wristbands are included with the full Cook-Off Team Entry fee. Pre-sale 2-day Adult Wrist Bands can be added on to the entry registraion for the discounted $20 Presale price. Pre-sale 2-day Children’s Wrist Bands may also be added on for the discounted $10 Presale price. Presale ends December 15th, no exceptions.

Port-o-lets and Hand Washing Stations may be reserved in the near future.
