The Humble BBQ Cook-Off
The Humble BBQ Cook-off was an addition to the Humble Rodeo in 2001. It was held the same weekend as the Rodeo and gave spectators many forms of entertainment beginning on Friday and running through Saturday evening.
The first year of the cook-off we had 32 teams register, year 2 we had 65 and year 3 it grew to 100 teams. Once the growth of the cook-off blew up, it was decided that the two events would have to be separated for parking and spectator safety. At that time it took on a new vision of becoming a two weekend event, weekend 1 would be BBQ Cook-off followed by weekend 2 full of Rodeo events.
The cook-off has grown to full capacity yearly and is now an annual event looked forward to by the Humble (and surrounding area) residents.
The Cook-Off brings cookers from all over to compete in the skill of cooking. The cook-off also brings fun for kids while being just a great weekend for the family to come enjoy the sun and atmosphere.
