The Heart of the Humble Rodeo & Cook-off

For more than 75 years, the Humble Rodeo has been a beloved tradition in our community. What began in 1947 as the Humble Fat Stock Show and Rodeo, organized by local residents, businessmen, oil workers, and cattlemen, has grown into an annual celebration of culture, community, and charitable impact.

The Rodeo was originally created to support FFA programs, agriculture, and civic interests in Humble. Early events included youth competitions, auctions, cow-milking contests, and live music performances. In 1997, the Rodeo moved to the Humble Civic Center, and in 2002, the BBQ Cook-Off was added. Today, the Rodeo and Cook-Off span multiple weekends, drawing competitors and visitors from across the region while continuing a mission of giving back. Learn more about our history here!

All proceeds from the Humble Rodeo & BBQ Cook-Off benefit the Humble ISD Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring innovation and enhancing academic opportunities for students. The Foundation provides grants that support:

• Educator Scholarships
• District-wide Initiatives

Thanks to this partnership, educators can bring exciting ideas to life, giving students hands-on learning experiences and opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. From interactive projects to programs that spark creativity and critical thinking, the Rodeo helps expand educational experiences across all Humble ISD schools.
